Firstly, two matches to report played mid-week at Valverde, as they had other commitments on the due date (February 24). PDF Crusaders travelled to play the Vulcans and continued their good season with a 61-44 victory and six points to two. Pedras Panthers took on the Valverde Vikings, and the Vikings won by 49-35 and took six points to two.

Greens put Cats in a Flap, Vikings cage the Tigers
The big match of the season saw top of the table Alvor Greens take on the ABC Cats, currently in second spot. Cats had thrashed the Greens at Albufeira earlier in the season and Greens were out for revenge, which they duly got by winning comfortably 79-34 and taking six points to two. The Greens thereby tightening their stranglehold on the league leadership.
In an all-Alvor clash, the Gladiators went down to the Harlequins by 61-49. Harlequins earning five points and the Gladiators took three. PDF Crusaders continued their winning ways with a 53-46 home win over the Amendoeira Nuts, taking another six points to two. Crusaders therefore close up on the Cats in the race for second spot. PDF Sinners also had a comfortable home win, defeating the Pedras Panthers by 62-39 and earning six points to two for the Panthers.
Valverde Vikings have had an up and down season, but got back on course today with a 67-38 win over the visiting Tavira Tigers. Vikings also swept up all eight points. Finally, the Alvor Amigos were at home to a weakened Valverde Vulcans side. Amigos running away with the game 71-28 and six points to two.
The league table shows Greens with 117 points and well clear of the chasing pack with four games to go. Cats remain second on 95 points, although the Crusaders are closing fast on 93. Harlequins remain fourth on 84, whilst Gladiators have 82 in fifth. Vikings move up several spots to sixth with 78 points, Tigers have 74 and Panthers are on 71 points. It is as you were in the bottom spots – Amigos now have 62, Sinners have 55, Nuts are on 43 and finally the Vulcans remain on 24 points.
