ON A sunny Algarve day, 36 of the region’s finest bowlers enjoyed the first Drytech Exteriors sponsored “Fours and Twos” event, hosted by the Vale do Lobo Bowling Club.
The Round Robin format saw teams from across the region compete against each other. After four rounds, three teams were still in contention, separated by one point and who still had all to play for – they were the teams from Santo António Bowling Club Alvor, Clube Praia d’Oura and Vale do Lobo.
After the last series of matches, the home side emerged victorious, with pairs winners, Irene and Terry Kerr, and fours winners, Richard Hepburn, John Freeman, Chris Williams and Jeff Perry.
After the event, Steve Biss, sales manager of Drytech Exteriors, said he was delighted to be involved with the Algarve bowling community and announced his company’s sponsorship of a new Summer Bowls League to be played at six venues across the Algarve during the next three months.
