Tuesday, November 19 was this week’s Cameron Cup competition. A sunny day with gentle breezes. We are half-way through this competition with only three more weeks until the end of the season for this contest. Alvor won four points from Albufeira; Floresta won all six points from Tavira, as did Pedras taking all six points from Balaia. Valverde were the resting team this week.
These results cement Floresta at the top of the table with 20 points, however, they still have a rest week to come, with Albufeira and Pedras chasing behind with 12 points each.
Thursday, November 21 was a very wet day, with all bowlers in their wet weather kit. However, all Super 10’s games took place and most teams managed to escape most of the showers. Albufeira took six points from Alvor who won two; Floresta won all eight points from Valverde; as did Pedras from Tavira. Balaia were the resting team this week.
Pedras are the team at the top this week with 26 points, with Floresta chasing closely on 24 points. Albufeira and Valverde are closing on the top teams with 20 points each.
Saturday, November 23 was a sunny if cold morning for our Winter League matches. In League ‘A’, Tavira Tigers won two points from Floresta Foresters who won six points; Valverde Vikings took five points from Alvor Amigos who won three points; Balaia Pods won six points from Pedras Panthers who won two points; whilst Albufeira Cats won all eight points from Alvor Rooks.
This still keeps Floresta Foresters at the top of Table ‘A’ with 32 points, but Albufeira Cats closing the gap in second place with 30 points. Tavira Tigers are on 24 points and Balaia Pods are on 21 points.
League ‘B’ saw Valverde Vipers winning all eight points from Alvor Scorpions; as did Valverde Vulcans from Alvor Greens; and likewise, Floresta Huntsman from Balaia Whalers. Floresta Rangers were the resting team this week. Valverde Vulcans are strengthening their lead at the top of Table ‘B’ with 30 points, team-mates Valverde Vipers on 20 points, with Floresta Huntsman on 18 points.
Two more weeks until the Christmas break and halfway through the season, so plenty of time for everything to change.
