Bottles of hashish found on Almancil roadside

Two plastic water bottles found by GNR police in a bag by the side of a road in Almancil have been confirmed as packed with over 6000 doses of hashish.

The stash, worth hundreds if not thousands of euros, was discovered as a result of a tip-off over “suspicious movements” in the area, writes Sulinformação.

Police called to the scene initially found nothing, explains the website. So they mounted a search of the undergrowth along the rural back road, and this is when they came upon the bag.

In all, the bottles, found on Monday, contained 117 hashish balls, known here as ‘acorns’.
