Bore draw

While Santa Clara showed little ambition beyond keeping a clean sheet, Portimonense tried their best to take home all three points from the Azores despite missing the creative services of injured winger Mou Kanasaki.
The match only gathered momentum after the interval when Fernandinho, Rui Correia, Quinaz and Dyego Sousa all came close to securing victory for the Algarveans – however, three misses and a disallowed goal kept the encounter goalless much to the detriment of manager Lázaro Oliveira’s men who remain in fifth following a win and a draw for principal promotion rivals Penafiel and Moreirense respectively.
Next up for Portimonense is a home game against faltering Leixões this Sunday afternoon (4pm kick-off) which should see them re-enter the fray for one of the top spots in what is proving to be an ultra-competitive league.
