Boost for Algarve route

THE REGIONAL tourism board, Turismo do Algarve, has agreed to give 10,000 euros in funding to the environmental association Almargem for the completion of the Via Algarviana, Algarve Way, route.

António Pina, President of Turismo do Algarve, said: “We decided to make an amendment to the initial amount that was agreed in a protocol signed in March this year. This is on top of the 10,000 that we had originally decided to give to the project.”

He also said that the Via Algarviana will be developed as part of a nature and eco tourism project for the region.

The Algarve Way is a footpath that stretches around 240km, crossing the entire Algarve region from Alcoutim in the east to Cape St.Vincent in the west.
