Faro Airport registered an 18.5% increase in passengers in the first half of 2017 compared to last year.
The airport welcomed over 586,000 travellers, mostly from the UK (56.2%), Germany (11.7%), Ireland (10.3%) and the Netherlands (7.2%).
The numbers are expected to keep growing now that the airport has a new terminal that cost nearly €40 million and is “bigger, more modern and efficient, and better looking”.
