THE COUNTRY’S largest bookshop is to open in Lisbon’s Amoreiras district.
Byblos, covering 3,300sqm of floorspace, is to open its doors today (December 14). The bookshop, a project by Américo Augusto Areal of ASA Editorial, will sell 150,000 books including many titles in French and English.
The shop will offer an alternative to other bookshops in the market such as Fnac, Livraria Barato and Livraria Bertrand. The shop will boast 14 cash payment desks and 34 touch-friendly plasma screens for clients to find out what the store does and doesn’t have in stock.
