RUMOURS THAT dozens of bookings were cancelled at the Mark Warner holiday resort in Praia da Luz, reported by the Portuguese press on Monday (May 14), were not confirmed by the company.
However, a spokesman for Mark Warner confirmed to The Resident that several clients, who had holiday accommodation booked at the resort, had asked to be transferred to a different location. According to the spokesman, who did not wish to be named, there were “only” four cancellations since the disappearance of Madeleine McCann on May 3.
The Ocean Club is the only resort the Mark Warner group has in Portugal. The spokesman did not want to reveal how many clients had asked to be transferred or where the new locations were. “That is, naturally, confidential information,” the spokesman said.
