THE FIRES have started even earlier this year and, with the current lack of water, the bombeiros really need more support.
With the money donated by the Saint Augustine Lodge Nº 6273 from London, the Silves Bombeiros were able to purchase fire-fighting uniforms and boots, which replaced the ones that were heavily burnt in previous fires. Now, they urgently need a second-hand rubber dinghy and, although money was raised towards it in a recent fundraising event, more is still needed.
