Bomb scare on Ryanair flight between Azores and Lisbon

A Ryanair plane was searched at Lisbon airport on November 15 after a bomb threat in the form of a note left in one of the craft’s toilets.

The plane was flying from Ponta Delgada in the Azores to Lisbon on Sunday morning when a note with the word “bomb” was found in the toilet, not even 48 hours after the tragic terrorist attacks in Paris.

A source from Lisbon’s PSP police told i newspaper that the plane had already taken off when the note was found.

However, the flight continued until it arrived in Lisbon at 9.25am.

No bomb or suspect device was found after a thorough search of the craft, PSP confirmed.

The flight back to Ponta Delgada was scheduled for 10am but was delayed three-and-a-half hours to make sure the aircraft was safe.
