The body of the 21-year-old dancer with the Royal Russian Ballet – swept out to sea last week – was washed up with the tide early this morning.
Ukrainian Ilya Romanskiy had been missing for over a week after a tragic swim with colleagues off the Canide boardwalk in Vila Nova de Gaia (click here).
The dance troop is staying in the area for performances of Swan Lake at the Coliseu in Porto.
Today’s discovery was particularly grim, in that the body was in a very advanced stage of decomposition and could only be recognised by the shorts that were still on it.
