Body of British golfer found floating at Vilamoura marina

The body of a 40-year-old British man was found floating near one of the walkways of the Vilamoura marina on Tuesday morning (October 6).

PJ police are investigating but are not understood to be considering this was a crime.

The man is reported to have been on golfing holiday with friends, staying at the Dom Pedro Marina Hotel in Vilamoura.

As far as police know, he was last seen on Monday night.

According to Correio da Manhã, his friends said the man “decided to go out on his own”, and they only noticed he was missing the next morning.

The man’s body was found at around 11.15am with bruising to the “back, chest and hands”, which police consider to have been caused from a fall from one of the nearby piers onto the rocks below.
