The body of a man in his 50s was found in his Faro apartment around three months after he is believed to have died.
According to national tabloid Correio da Manhã, the man had not been seen in his apartment building in downtown Faro or the places he frequented for several months.
Even the electricity to his apartment on Rua do Bocage had been cut off since July, the tabloid adds.
However, his body which was in an “advanced state of decomposition” was only discovered on Saturday afternoon by local firefighters.
It was taken to Faro hospital’s morgue and is due to undergo an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
CM adds that PJ criminal police do not suspect foul play.
The man had been living alone since his father died less than a year ago.
