Boavista’s first female Captain

For the first time in the 10 year history of Boavista Golf Club in Lagos, a woman was appointed as the club’s Captain on March 18.

Amanda Rogers, now Captain at the Club, has been a member of Boavista for five years and attained her first handicap of 36 there in 2007. Her handicap now stands at 13.5.

“I feel it is a real honour and privilege to be Captain of such a fantastic club. We have a great atmosphere, camaraderie, social activities and a reputation that is second to none. I hope the next year is a successful one for both the club and its members,” said Amanda.

She will represent the club over the next 12 months and help raise money for two charities, the Bombeiros in Lagos and the St. Amaro Home for the Disabled.
