Four teams entered for the third Western Algarve Inter-Club Trophy this year, including the Carvoeiro Golf and Country Club, so the competition was reduced to 16 players per team to accommodate the extra competitors. The format of this competition, an individual stableford, means that every team member’s score counts and this resulted in the closest possible finish. Boavista has held the trophy since 2002, the inaugural year of the competition. This year, however, the home team was pushed to the limit by Palmares and, eventually, only one point separated the two. The event culminated in a post match buffet dinner at the Tivoli Lagos Clube das Dunas on Meia Praia where the prizes were presented.
