Boavista Charity Golf Day

There are only two weeks left to go before the Boavista Charity Golf Day and those wanting to take part are urged to book soon as remaining places are already limited.

Stephen Dodds, one of the organisers of the event, told the Algarve Resident: “Entries for the charity golf day are filling up very well but we still have a few places available.”

The golf day is being held on June 25 at the Boavista golf course in Lagos from 11am and money raised from the day will be donated to two local charities, the NECI school for special needs in Montinhos da Luz and the Lar de Jovens children’s home in Lagos.

The competition will be an Open Pairs Betterball Stableford with a shotgun start at 11am and costs €55 per person to enter.  The entry fee includes a buggy for each pair, green fees, a barbeque including wine, live entertainment and auction participation.

“We have had a great response for items to auction so far including a superb original painting from the well known local artist Caroline Wood and a champagne lunch cruise for four in a cutter rigged yacht.  We also have an autographed bottle of wine by Sir Cliff Richard courtesy of the Algarve Resident,” said Stephen.

For non-golfers there is also a chance to be able to take part in the events of the day with an opportunity to use the spa facilities for €5 while the golf takes place.  The barbeque is also open to non golfers from around 4pm with the food, wine and entertainment all available for €20.
