What a shame to read about the Boa Esperança Caravel … (last week’s edition)
Not that I am surprised, really. In fact, as well as being a shame, it should also be embarrassing for the Algarve Tourism Board to welcome the Spanish Nao Victoria to its Sagres port and have to admit that the Portuguese replica could not make it to the event launch – or it might sink along the way!
I don’t believe the Boa Esperança will ever bring much income to the region, but the tourism board should have planned ahead before investing in the construction of such a fantastic vessel.
This new association being discussed in Lagos should have been formed ages ago to ensure the proper maintenance of the caravel.
