Bloomsday celebration

Irish Ambassador Declan O´Donovan will be hosting an evening of readings and musical performances to mark Bloomsday on June 16.

The Lisbon String Quartet will be playing while The Lisbon Players, the English-language theatre group, will be giving readings in honour of the day which celebrates the life and works of famed Irish novelist and poet James Joyce.

Guests to the celebration, which is taking place at the Ambassador’s residence in Lisbon between 6.30pm and 8.30pm, are asked to wear a straw boater to relive a summer’s day in Dublin in 1904.

Places are limited and need to be reserved by 5pm on June 10.
