Portimão council has turned to Portuguese bloggers to help promote the borough as a Covid-19 safe destination for national and Spanish holidaymakers.
The campaign, entitled ‘Portimão Testado e Recomendado’ (Portimão Tested and Recommended), is being shared on Facebook and Instagram.
Bloggers and ‘influencers’ are becoming strategic partners when it comes to tourism promotion due to their large number of followers.
In this case, the campaign is led by travel bloggers Maria João Proença and André Parente, food blogger Pedro Cruz Gomes and Algarve writer Ana Amorim.
Four videos (in Portuguese and Spanish) featuring each influencer will be shared on their own social media pages as well as those of Portimão Council and the local tourism association.
The first video was released on July 17 and sees André Proença exploring the town’s popular beaches, with the others to be launched soon.
Maria João Proença’s video will focus on the municipality’s heritage and culture, while Pedro Cruz Gomes will highlight the local cuisine. Ana Amorim Dias will showcase the sports and fun activities that can be enjoyed in the area.
