Bloco de Esquerda wants to question former Portuguese president over BES

Left wingers Bloco de Esquerda have delivered six questions to the parliamentary inquiry into Novo Banco on the relationship between former Portuguese president Cavaco Silva and disgraced BES banking chief Ricardo Salgado. The party wants to know if the former head of state received donations from “members of administrative bodies of BES and GES (Grupo Espírito Santo) to finance his election campaigns. The questions relate to meetings between Cavaco and Ricardo Salgado, and the knowledge the former may have had on the financial situation of BES, explains Expresso today.
