Organisers have hailed this year’s Better Living in Portugal (BLiP) Expo as the “biggest in the last six years”.
The event, organised by foreign residents’ association afpop, took place last weekend (October 12-13) at Portimão Arena.
afpop CEO Michael Reeve told the Resident that BLiP 2019 set a new benchmark for the event.
“We had more exhibitors (103) and more stands (130) than any previous year and comments from the exhibitors and visitors alike were overwhelmingly positive about BLiP and its growth,” he told us.
While he admitted that there are “always some things that may not go to plan or that we need to look at for the future, this was, without doubt, our most successful BLiP Expo in recent years.
“We also broadened the phrase ‘Better Living’ a little, to try to look at what it actually means to have a better life. We included more of the arts and also a community stand, both of which were even better received than we dared hope they might be,” said Reeve.
With BLiP’s 20th anniversary next year, the afpop team is confident that it can make the event even better in 2020.
“I would like to thank our partners – MEDAL Insurance, the Algarve Tourism Agency, Portimão Câmara and the Resident as our media partner – for their excellent and invaluable support for our flagship event. They are also a part of the reason for our successful expo,” he added.
BLiP is a yearly event where a wide range of businesses showcase their products and services to residents in Portugal.
Health care, financial services, insurance, consular services, energy solutions, gardens and outdoor living, leisure, removals, fashion, pest control, windows, doors, security, blinds, artisans, travel, technology, funeral services, property, food and wines and greetings cards are all sectors and services that are covered at the fair.
