For the first time in its nine year history, afpop’s Better Living in Portugal (BLiP) exhibition is being held in September, rather than its usual date in mid-October.
Over the weekend of September 26 and 27, more than 200 exhibitors will display their goods and services to around 9,000 visitors to what is the largest exhibition of its kind in southern Portugal.
With everything on sale from greetings cards to financial services, there really is something for everyone at BLiP.
Initially created to showcase expatriate businesses in the Algarve, BLiP has grown beyond that and now enjoys a mixture of foreign and Portuguese-owned companies from all over Portugal and Iberia.
Michael Reeve, afpop’s Chief Executive Officer, told the Algarve Resident: “This is the ninth year of BLiP and this year we were forced to move the dates of BLiP because of local elections in Portugal. But what will not change is the energy and colour of the event, with many long term exhibitors returning again and being joined by first time exhibitors, all looking forward to meeting visitors in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.”
A visit to BLiP is a real treat as under one roof you will find businesses that cover many aspects of enjoying your life here in Portugal and all are available to you in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, helping us to ‘make life better’.
“Many members and visitors alike choose BLiP to renew their afpop membership, renew their insurances, source items for their home, do some early Christmas shopping or book that special beauty treatment they have been promising themselves, as well as meeting up with old friends,” said Michael Reeve.
“And of course if you are not yet an afpop member then there is the opportunity to meet the staff and join at BLiP – ensuring that you are well informed about living and working in Portugal and also able to access the many financial benefits of afpop membership.”
BLiP is the largest event of its kind in Portugal and companies come from far and wide to be a part of the event.
With the opening of the ‘old’ bridge into Portimão, it will now be even easier to get to the event, with entry also possible via the A22 and the EN125.
The opening times for BLiP 2009 are 10am to 7pm on Saturday September 26 and 11am to 6pm on Sunday September 27.
