The Tavira cycling team presented its new sponsor alongside three important reinforcements last weekend.
Now known as Carmin-Prio-Tavira, Portugal’s oldest club will see Alejandre Marque, Amaro Antunes and Loulé’s Valter Pereira join its established riders this season while still hoping to engineer the return of former star David Blanco whose new Geox team has been dissolved.
Carmin-Prio-Tavira can be seen in action for the first time this year when the Tour of the Algarve hits the road on February 15, featuring international stars such as Alberto Contador, Bradley Wiggins, Andreas Kloden, Tyler Farrar, title holder Tony Martin or new Lotto Pro-Team leader Jurgen van den Broeck, who has been the latest big name to confirm his presence.
