In the past three months, there have been almost 20 accidents at two places on the EN 120, the road between the Algarve and the lower Alentejo.
They have all occurred either just before Aljezur when travelling from Lagos towards Odemira or in Relvinha.
Ten of the 18 accidents since December 18 were considered by police to be serious.
