A STUDY carried out by German astronomers in Chile has confirmed that there is a giant black hole at the centre of our galaxy.
The astronomers tracked the movement of 28 stars circling the centre of the Milky Way, using two telescopes in Chile and discovered the black hole. This is an object in space whose gravity is so great that nothing, not even light, can escape its pull.
According to an article in The Astrophysical Journal, the black hole is four million times heavier than our Sun.
