Birthday messages for Lagos’ chef still missing after one month

It is now more than a month since newspapers highlighted the mystery of missing Lagos chef Jon Anderson Edwards – and now the young man from Arbroath is another year older.
Jon’s birthday was on October 12.
It was remembered on Facebook by family and friends who are now desperately trying not to fear the worst.
Jon, who was 31 when he went missing from his job at Lagos’ Rockfood café on September 15, is understood to have fallen on his head the day before he disappeared and lost consciousness.
Friends and relatives have always worried that this may have been connected with his disappearance, but a search of hospitals in the area has resulted in nothing.
Police on the trail are also understood to have drawn a blank.
Searches on Facebook show that friends noticed changes to Jon’s facebook page earlier this month.
For instance his place of work changed suddenly from Rockfood café to a resort where he had worked the year before in Israel.
But as his mother Lesley Edwards wrote online: “He couldn’t have gone to Israel without his passport.”
This is what is worrying all that knew Jon most. His personal belongings and passport remained in his Lagos lodgings.
“Being without answers seems harder on your birthday somehow, but we haven’t forgotten to remember you,” said one of Jon’s facebook friends.
