High temperatures during August mean that the members of the Algarve Senior Bikers Group have not been holding any meetings or events and will only resume activities in September, when hopefully the temperatures drop a little.
David Shirley from the group said: “The weather is a little warm for motorcycling at present. Most of the members prefer to wear the correct safety clothing and even though there are plenty of lightweight alternatives available, it can still be very hot when waiting in traffic and at other points.”
From September the group hopes to hold two rides every month for members and guests, with the next event by the group being planned for September 8 with a ride to Alcoutim alongside the Guadiana River.
Those interested in joining the ride are to meet in São Brás de Alportel at 10am, further details of the ride, which is being planned by Mike Sanders, are still to be arranged.
