Bikers reach New heights

Meeting for the first time in Silves allowed 28 riders of the Algarve Senior Bikers (ASB) to approach the starting point from all directions and avoid heavy traffic on the EN125.

After welcoming a few new faces to the group, David Shirley, ASB organiser, led the group northwards through the hills to a café near São Marcos, where after a short break the lead was handed over to Steve Wills. From there, the group headed up to Nave Redonda and then Monchique.

Just before entering Monchique, Steve took a right turn for a detour up to Foia, the highest point in the Algarve. Following the final descent down the mountain, the group enjoyed lunch at Restaurante Rampa, to conclude the day.

The next ASB meeting will be held on August 21, from Boliqueime for a short ride and lunch at the new headquarters of the Moto Clube of Faro.
