Palmeiras Resort-Tavira’s André Cardoso was the top Portuguese finisher in 17th place at last week’s cycling World Championships, coming home 2m44s behind race winner Cadel Evans. The Algarve team was also collectively in action at Madeira’s Champions Race over the weekend where Daniel Mestre was beaten into second place by CC Loulé’s Pedro Soeiro.
