PORTUGAL HAS been presented with an award as Ireland’s Best for Golf Destination in the World for the third year in a row.
Based on polls conducted at travel agents throughout the country, the award was presented at a ceremony in Dublin by the Irish Travel Trade News in January.
Tourists staying in Portugal rose seven per cent in 2006, against the previous year and more than 80 per cent of those chose to stay in the Algarve.
