Benfica manager Jorge Jesus took the law into his own hands after the 1-0 away win at V.Guimarães last Sunday. A number of Benfica fans invaded the pitch after the final whistle and one was bundled to the ground by a police officer. Jesus, who during his playing days turned out for SC Farense and SC Olhanense, took exception to the officer’s robust behaviour and ended up pushing and shoving several of the police until he too was led away. The 59 year-old Benfica boss was later arrested and questioned. Apart from criminal charges, he could also receive a lengthy touchline ban.
