The group is the only Barbershop chorus in Algarve
Bella Acapella, founded in 2008, is the only Barbershop chorus in the Algarve.
What is really the Bella Acapella Barbershop chorus? A mixed international group of singers? Yes! Who love to sing together and have fun? Yes! But there is more…
It’s about singing with passion, engaging the audience. That’s why we rehearse weekly, that’s why singing Barbershop is demanding and yet so joyful. It’s also about blending and harmony.
Four tenors, 10 leads, seven baritones and three basses have to blend to find harmony under the direction of our Musical Director, Rob Does.
The melody is usually sung by the leads, basses provide the root of the chord, tenors add the “natural” harmony and baritones complete the chord.
We all have to blend: no soloists here and no individual voices discernible.
Our challenge right now is to find male voices, even if women are always more than welcome.
