Belgian tourists attack Lisbon taxi driver

After numerous stories of Lisbon taxi drivers swindling tourists over fares, a trio of Belgian tourists is reported to have attacked their driver, after trying to trick him with a torn off €20 note.
The story, reported in Correio da Manhã on Friday, involved a €4 fare from Largo do Rato to the Pampulha walkway.
According to CM, the Belgians, aged 33, 34 and 57, tried to pay the fare with half a €20 note.
The taxi driver objected and was then set upon.
His cab, as well as a nearby parked motorcycle, was damaged before a PSP patrol car called to the scene arrested the Belgians, all of whom will now be appearing in court.
