Beja is to be the focus of a lively week of commemorations to the ancient culture of tile painting from Wednesday (May 6), offering all manner of workshops aimed at young people, and a number of exhibitions. The event, promoted by the region’s association for cultural defence, Beja council, Alentejo tourism and the state board of culture, ends on Saturday with a huge parade in the town’s Pousada de São Francisco.
