Warm temperatures, reaching up to 28ºC, and clear skies are expected in southern Portugal this weekend after a week of cloudy and sometimes rainy weather.
In the rest of Portugal, temperatures are expected to remain between 19ºC and 28ºC, and rain may fall in the northern Minho and Douro regions on Saturday, announces the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
Porto may also see some rain, with temperatures ranging between 12ºC and 21ºC, while people in Lisbon can expect clear to partially-cloudy skies and temperatures up to 24ºC.
The good news is definitely for the Algarve and the Alentejo, especially if you are looking to hit the beach.
As UV levels are expected to be ‘high to very high’ in the centre and northern regions of Portugal, IPMA is recommending the use of sunscreen, sunglasses and hats, and staying out of the sun between 12pm and 4pm.
In Portugal’s islands, temperatures are expected to reach 25ºC in Madeira and 24ºC in the Azores, although skies may be cloudy.
