Three boroughs in the Algarve – Albufeira, Silves and Lagoa – will be hosting a joint clean-up initiative on Sunday, May 12 which is open to anyone who would like to help.
Entitled ‘Operação Praia Limpa’, the event was created in 2017 by the Zoomarine theme park in Guia and is held every year, aiming to remove rubbish from the beaches and raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment.
The first 150 people to show up in each borough will receive a commemorative t-shirt; and all participants will be given a snack and a digital diploma. “But, most important of all”, say organisers, “they will take with them many happy memories.”
