ZONDA THE barbecue shop and WineMine recently held their second monthly tasting at the new Zonda showroom on the EN125 near Almancil.
The barbecued food included sausages and rib-eye steak, but the pièce de résistance was the boned and rolled leg of Alentejan lamb. Once again, Alan Franck, butcher and chef for the day, excelled and produced cooked meat of a very high quality using his own marinades which were exceptional.
WineMine presented six Portuguese and South American wines, three whites and three reds, that complemented the food wonderfully and which covered a wide price range.
These events are attended by barbecue and wine enthusiasts who wish to learn more about what cuts of meat to choose, how to prepare them for cooking and what wine to serve with what type of meal.
The lunch this month was made even more special by the beautiful classical guitar-playing of Eudoro Grade.
The next BBQ and Wine Tasting event will take place on Friday, May 25, between 12pm and 2pm.
