QUARTEIRA BASED basketball team, Os Tubarões (The Sharks), is working together with the Associação de Promoção do Desporto Adaptado (ParaSport), an association promoting adapted sporting activities, to create a basketball team for disabled players. The aim is to put a sporting activity in place to provide a positive platform for all those in the Algarve with disabilities. Those interested in joining the basketball team should contact ParaSport between 9.30am and 1pm on 289 393 636, by e-mail at [email protected] or call in at the Pavilhão Desportivo Dr.ª Laura Ayres in Quarteira, where training takes place every Wednesday from 7pm until 8.30pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 11am.
