TOMORROW (JUNE 18), the Tavira Fundraisers are holding a Midsummer Barbecue from 7.30pm at Val del Rei Restaurant in Pedras del Rei (near Tavira) in aid of Canil de São Francisco in Loulé, which provides for the care and welfare of abandoned and neglected animals. It will be a buffet barbecue that will include fish and meat, sardines, mackerel, pork, chicken, soup, a variety of salads, rice, potatoes and puddings. Drinks included in the price will be Alentejo red and white wines, water, various juices, beer, tea and coffee. Organisers have hired a DJ to play lively music, as there will be plenty of space to rap, rock and boogie! Tickets cost 25 euros each.
