You will not miss Bar Havana, soon to open in Alvor. Just turn your back on the fisherman statue by the harbour, look up the hill and you will find the bright new bar in town.
The former Sancho Pança has been given a modern make-over with the colourful interior reflecting the sunny personalities of Kate Fitzsimmons and Jennie Cody who will be opening the vibrant cocktail bar on May 1.
Many people will already know Jennie who, with her partner Craig, has successfully run Bar Havana in Carvoeiro for the last seven years.
Having lived in Alvor for 10 years, Kate, who will be running Bar Havana Alvor, speaks fluent Portuguese and is “a mine of local information”.
Kate Fitzsimmons said: “There will be no TV, no sport, no Karaoke – just a relaxing, chill out bar with an intimate, friendly atmosphere, a comprehensive range of drinks and a delicious menu of cocktails.”
A special promotion will be two for the price of one during Happy Hour (5pm – 8pm).
The opening weekend party will be on May 4 and 5.
