Bank of Portugal warns of ‘fake online video’

The Bank of Portugal has issued a warning of a ‘fake video’ circulating online which uses its name, and the image of governor Mário Centeno, to publicise an alleged investment platform where people signing up can make hundreds of dollars per day. The ad, allegedly promoted by Techalytic, appears in other languages on Youtube, as well as Portuguese. As Observador remarks, it is not unusual for the bank to warn of ‘fake investment promises’, what is ‘new’ is a relatively slick ad using images of the bank to make the whole scheme look more believable.
