The Bank of Portugal has until Thursday to reveal the list of debtors it wanted to keep secret.
At issue, explain reports, are ‘large debtors’ who received ‘public funding’ to bail them out of hefty repayments to State bank CGD, BES/ Novo Banco, Banif, BPN, BCO and BPI.
The law forcing increased transparency from the central bank came in in February after left wingers teamed up with social democrats.
