WELL-KNOWN Portuguese High Street bank, Montepio Geral, chose to give the money it would normally spend on Christmas gifts for suppliers and key clients to charity this year. The management’s new policy has meant that a 25,000 euro cheque could be offered to Faro boys’ home, Instituto D. Francisco Gomes, better known as Casa dos Rapazes. “This donation will allow the home to renovate the canteen and lay new wooden flooring in three dormitories where cold tiling is currently in place.” Casa dos Rapazes currently provides a home for 60 underprivileged boys and has recently opened a crèche facility.
