Banco Alimentar do Algarve recruiting volunteers for solidarity campaign

The Food Bank Charity is preparing to launch a new solidarity campaign on November 26 and 27.

Following huge challenges in 2020 and 2021 resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Banco Alimentar do Algarve will carry out another solidarity campaign to collect food on November 26 and 27.

“We need your help for this cause. Come and participate in the collection of food items. One hour of your day makes all the difference in the days of thousands of families”, appeals Nuno Cabrita Alves, president of Banco Alimentar do Algarve.

Volunteers are needed for the 160 stores spread across the region’s municipalities and in the Faro and Portimão warehouses.

All help is essential at a time when thousands of families need support due to an inflationary crisis, with a strong impact on food. Help can be given in stores with food or vouchers, but also online with food donations or through financial support.

Every company in the food chain, such as producers, industry and distributors, can help by donating and distributing their surpluses.

“More than ever, all donations are fundamental and make a difference in each person’s life”, concludes Nuno Cabrita Alves.
