On a sunny Saturday morning (January 15), Balaia Bowls Club played their Bowls Algarve League Week Sixteen game.
The PODS Team lost all three of their rinks at Valverde, whilst the Whalers playing at Balaia against Pedras Panthers won one rink and lost two. This places the PODS in 14th place in the League, and Whalers in 10th place.
Balaia Bowls Club, whilst the smallest club in the League, also has four teams through to the semi-finals of the Algarve Inter-Club Competition, scheduled to take place during February.
The Algarve Super 10’s Competition is scheduled to begin on Thursday, January 19, with Balaia drawn at home against Albufeira CATS Bowling Club.
Balaia welcomes bowlers of all levels, new or experienced, and has its Roll Up on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9.45am for a 10am start. All are welcome.
