CONSTRUCTION OF a new high performance badminton centre has begun in Caldas da Rainha, north of Lisbon, at a cost of 4.2 million euros.
The complex, coordinated by the Portuguese Badminton Federation, will consist of five main courts, two warm up courts, seating for more than 600 spectators, an auditorium for athletes and coaches, medical facilities and a gym.
The badminton centre will also offer a permanent training base for players and coaches with accommodation.
