The bad weather assailing Portugal has seen well over 2,000 ‘call-outs’ for Civil Protection, the majority of them involving trees falling (901 interventions), flooding (494) highway obstructions (334) and the falling of ‘structures’ (advertising hoardings, etc). Worst affected areas have been along the western coast, from Braga to Setúbal. Today will see winds drop, rainfall ease as meteorologists predict a gradual fall in temperatures.
