A STUDY conducted on 15-year-old students across 57 countries has found that those in Portugal are achieving results below average in maths, science and reading.
More than 5,100 students were evaluated in Portugal during the 2006 study which gave the country 37th place out of 57.It was also found that the impact related to the student’s socio-economic backgrounds and cultural environments at home on their school performance is greater in Portugal than other countries evaluated.
