A BABY whale, measuring around 3.5 metres, was found washed up on the beach at Ilha da Armona in Olhão (Algarve), last Monday. After spending around seven hours aground, the whale was safely returned to the sea with the help of beach-goers, and did not appear to have sustained any injuries. It is believed that disorientation was the reason behind its appearance on the beach.
